Stella and I were curled up on the kitchen floor from 2:30 am to 6:30 am. I thought she was going in to labor because she was pacing and panting, so I stayed up with her. At 6:30 am, she fell asleep and the baby woke up at 7:00 (of course). Haha. I'm so excited!!!!
Naming our son Cole was easy for us- it is his daddy's middle name. As with naming children- your puppy will have to live with his or her name the rest of their long lives. We always use people names; however, my brother goes the extra mile and gives his dogs first and last names (e.g., Jim Underwood and Phyllis Buchanan). Haha.
When I was pregnant, I came across a funny website (see link below) that lets you "test drive" human baby names with things such as "____, will you set the table?" and "_____! Pick up your toys. I am not going to ask you again".
I think we need to generate our own doggie name test drive! It should include:
Come, ______. Good dog!
I need to make an appointment with Dr. Veterinarian for my dog _______.
Do you want to go outside, ______?
Or in my case.....
_____, put down that dead squirrel! No! Do NOT bring that inside! Ewwww!!!
What is that smell? ______, was that you!?!? Haha.
Below is a puppy name bank for inspiration...
Stella and I were watching tv last night, and I felt some puppies move last night as I was rubbing her belly! It won't be long!!! (roughly a week and a half!)
Brothers Luka and Achilles having a little romp after not seeing each other for a while. Luka just got home from an obedience academy, so he's a little lean right now- but look at those stilts! These are two handsome boys!
We x-rayed Stella's abdomen on Friday, but it's still too early. We will x-ray again when it gets closer to delivery time! :)
So excited about the puppies! We are going to x-ray either at the end of the week or early next week to see how many bundles of joy we can expect!
* Development of skin pigment
* Fetuses should be almost 2 inches!
* Fetal heartbeats can be heard with a stethoscope
Welcome to the Stellar Community!
We love to share stories and pictures of our puppies from birth to after they join their new homes. It is so much fun to follow the puppy's litter mates. Feel free to comment, ask questions, or email me to create a post for you!
