European Style Headgear

Hello New Friends!
We have a lot of new Stellar Doberman owners and I thank each and every one of you  for adopting your new family member! We sent many of you home with freshly cropped ears, and I know you have recently gotten stitches removed. It is important to continue to use triple antibiotic ointment if they appear irritated or inflamed.
Here are some links to a set of videos on how to make European Style Headgear for your puppy's ears. Holly and I use these for the first three weeks to stretch and strengthen the cartilage. We wrap ours with vet wrap (save money and buy it at Tractor Supply.)You will see your puppy's ears start to stand after using these for a few days. Keep them on your puppy, they will get used to this, and even sleep with it. Change the tape when it wears off.
Clean your puppy's ears inside and out with alcohol pads, let them dry. Place the headgear on their head, and using the Zonas tape, apply a strip that attaches to the inside of the ear, stretch the puppies ear tight, pulling the tape over the headgear, then sticking it to the backside of the ear. You're all done.
Keep doing this for three weeks. These pups grow fast, so you may need to modify or build larger racks weekly. After the three week period, start posting. Holly and I will try the zip tie method on our pups, but if we aren't happy with this we will go to posting with tampons. You have our numbers, holler if you need anything! Please send us pics of your new racks!

Oh the looks I got when I was pregnant and people found out I had dobermans!  Little did they know it was the four pound Bad Poodle who was trouble!  Haha.

Hello to everyone from SLEEPLESS IN LORENA!

So sorry I have not posted an update on ear surgery but between pre operative preparation and tropical storm BILL (ha), it's been a rough week...lol

All the surgeries went very well and kudos to Dr Crouch for a job well done! A big Kudos to my husband Bobby (definitely my better half) for getting the puppies to their destination safe and sound without falling asleep. The song Jesus Take The Wheel is our Stellar Doberman motto and anthem from now on. We have been going this week on 2-3 hrs sleep a night this week! Thank you for all the prayers for safety. Of all times for a tropical storm to come onshore! Old Tropical Storm Bill tried to throw a glitch in our plans but there is no stopping us at Stellar Dobermans!!! Wooohooo!!!

Okay so more Kudos to Portia and Obi for a remarkable pairing. Dr Crouch has bred trained and shown dobermans for decades and had a stud that won Best of Breed at Westminster in 1994. She said this is the nicest litter that she has seen in a very long time and commended us for such fine breeding. She felt each pup was show quality which was a huge complement in itself. She went on to say that most of the litters that come to her, try to tear down her clinic and our puppies were perfectly mannered in every way. Those same complements came from all the Docs at Waco vet clinic as well...

This is just confirmation of the hours of hard work we have put into these puppies to ensure they will be wonderful family members. Please know that each one of these puppies will be cherished in our hearts forever.

It is bittersweet as this is the last weekend all of our babies will be together. Sweet Viola will go to her new home next Saturday and begin her new journey with her new mommy Talley and sister Virginia.
Bobby, Karen and I spent the day with the babies getting pictures and playing outside as the Lord blessed us with a picture perfect day.
