Red Girl Owners Please Reply

I could wring Stella's neck!!!

She pulled the stitches out of red girls 2 and 3's tails.  I am keeping them clean and trying to wrap them until tomorrow morning.  I am afraid to have another Maximus and Ruger situation (several restitching) on our hands since Stella cannot leave them alone.  My question I ask you guys is... should I have them restitiched or should we keep them clean and let them heal to be fixed during their ear crop when they are older?

My fear is that there might be more than one restitiching needed for these girls which could cause scarring and infection. If it heals now, the repair during ear crop is simple.  You would have to ask if your vet is able to trim the granulomas and restitch.

I can't put any type of lick repellant on the puppies because Stella licks them to stimulate their waste removal. I go to the vet in the morning- please advise what you want me to do with your puppy if you have a preference.

They will be examined first thing in the morning... I can call everyone after his advisement and double check with you.

My first priority, of course, is that they are clean and safe from infection. A second concern is the possible scarring. Since all three are spoken for, I'd like to see if you have an opinion

It can be restitched and wrapped with gauze, bandage, etc. She will pull it off within 30 seconds; she is such a good mother that she will not leave the foreign objects alone. I cannot keep the puppies separated from their mother for 7-10 days. What a pain! I'm going to get a veterinarian's opinion and will call everyone. I just want you to know that I am concerned not for their well being/health, but for cosmetic reasons. I will always do my best to keep our puppies healthy and beautiful.

Not sure why my response didn't show-I am fine with what the vet recommends. We can always fix it later!
