** 2011 Puppies **
Stella X Rambo
Whelped 6/26/12
The puppies are here!!!
The puppies arrived June 26th! Stella had 14 puppies, each were about 7 inches long and one pound. Mom and babies are doing great! There are eight black/rust males, one black/rust female, three red/rust females, and two red/rust males. See the Summer 2011 Photo Journal tab for weekly pictures and updates.
"Achilles"- Black/Rust Male 1- Blue Collar (adopted by Jessica and Mike)
Stats as of 9/14/11
Weight : 30 pounds
This boy is our largest puppy with the largest head and paws. His lines and conformation are beautiful! Not only is he remarkably handsome, but also he is one of our sweetest and laid back puppies. He is potty trained already; he will use a doggie door independently or cry to be let outside to use the restroom. This boy has a thing for the ladies... he always prefers to sit beside me on the couch with his head in my lap and gets excited when other women are around. I'm getting really attached to this stud muffin! I think the tiny poodle will be very upset when he goes to his new home... they have so much fun together!!!
A fair warning though... this boy is spoiled! He thinks he belongs on the couch beside you or at your feet at all times. But to be fair, all of our puppies are spoiled like this. I see them as true Dobermans- the Velcro dogs who just love their families beyond belief. I'd rather have an enormous Doberman who was hand-raised and spoiled than one who was never touched and loved on.

Stats as of 8/12/11
Weight: 13 pounds 0.5 ounces
This boy is one of my favorites. He has a gorgeous face and sweet affect; he really likes to be held. This is one playful and funny boy! He hit a major growth spurt and has really Beefed up! He is very active and likes to be outside (only when it's cool of course). He is really starting to grow into those big beefy paws of his. He is happy and loving and going to be the best dog!

"Deacon"- Black/Rust Male 5- Light Green Collar (adopted by Anna and Don)
Stats as of 8/18/11
Weight: 15 pounds 4.5 ounces
This handsome boy likes to watch what is going on and always seeks out people to pick him up. He saw me when we were outside last night and ran over and stared up at me and licked my leg until I picked him up. He is a big time lover and will be a very big male dog with a great personality. I just LOVE this boy! He will run to anyone sitting down and sit in their lap, give a few kisses, and then fall asleep in your lap. He has become pretty laid back over the last two weeks. He will play with Castiel and the little dogs, but doesn't like to rough house too much with the rowdy puppies.

"Bond"- Black/Rust Male 7- Yellow Collar (adopted by Megan and Alex)
Stats as of 8/18/11
Weight: 16 pounds 11 ounces
This handsome big hunk likes to EAT, is very independent, and is our active explorer! He is the first one awake hungry, and when he goes to sleep he likes to sleep next to the gate in their run even if he is by himself so he can be the first one fed. He is going to be a BIG BOY!
He is hilarious! He was the first to learn to hook his arms over the baby pool and flip over. I walked into the kitchen and he was asleep beside it on the floor; I about died because we have hard floors and I didn't want any of them to injure themselves! He seeks out attention from Stella, his litter mates, and especially us. He likes to be held on his back and his tummy rubbed. He is so sweet!
This boy is going to need an owner who is very active and ready for such a strong happy personality! He is our most active and fun puppy. He's not one to sit back and watch the others; he wants to show them how to do it!

"Maximus"- Black/Rust Male 8- White Collar (adopted by John and Erika)
Stats as of 8/24/11
Weight: 18 pounds 15.5 ounces
He has the most handsome face as you can see! He has a very small white spot on his chest (it is so small you can't see it in the picture), which is common among Dobermans, and many outgrow it (it's already almost gone). You can find many International Champions with this acceptable small mark on their chests as well. This small mark is accepted by the AKC and is not disqualifying. It also has nothing to do with Z-factor Dobermans. The mark is not a fault, common, and fading, however, I see it as a special feature that sets him apart from the other puppies. I kind of hope it doesn't disappear altogether.
Here's my precious big boy! He wants to be held and sit with you all of the time. Gosh I love his face! He is still learning the hard way to not overeat. He gets really excited to eat his gruel and tries to eat others' bowls as well. Then he likes to go nurse on Stella until the poor little thing looks like he is going to explode! I have to keep an eye on him so that he doesn't make himself sick; he must be going through a growth spurt! He is going to be a big, strong and loyal Dobie!

"Ruger"- Red/Rust Male (adopted by Theresa and Marcus)
Stats as of 8/12/11
Weight: 14 pounds 1 ounce
We call this super laid back monster Big Red; he has the longest body of the puppies and doesn't weigh as much as the boys his size yet, but I think he is going to have his daddy's size. I look forward to watching him fill out over the next few weeks! He is a very special dog who will be very loyal and laid back. He and Red Female helped Deacon keep warm when he was sick, and he would always find him in the group. He is very laid back as well. He is patient and trusts that he will be fed when his turn comes. He likes to enjoy his last few minutes of sleep as the others climb and claw their way over one another to get to their bowls or to their mom. He will be a perfect dog for someone who is a first time dog owner or someone looking for a big dog that will easily relax in the house.
Red boy really started to play this week. He started chasing his brothers and rolling around playing and biting. I was thinking he was going to be a really lazy dog, but he really started to get active this week! He also is a BIG eater now; he didn't really like the gruel but can eat 2 bowls of soggy puppy food in record time!

"Hemi"- Dark Red/Rust Female 2 (adopted by Dara and family)
Stats as of 8/24/11
Weight: 16 pounds 10.5 ounces
This knockout has the most beautiful rich deep red color and sharp rust markings. She inherited Luka's red collar when he went home today so she will be easier to distinguish for people in pictures (although she is always the one smiling!) She likes to hang out on the couch with us and watch movies on her back, but she really likes to play! She always has a toy or she is always chasing Chanel with the pink collar. They wrestle a lot.

"Diamond"- Lighter Red/Rust Female (adopted by Mark and Sandria)_
Diamond in her new dad's truck!
Stats as of 8/2/11
Weight: 8 pounds 6.5 ounces
This red girl has a little lighter red color than the other two; her coloring stands out and is strikingly beautiful. Everyone gravitates towards her. She is definitely red, but a tiny bit closer to a fawn color despite our dogs not carrying the dilution gene to produce a fawn puppy. She was the first to open her eyes and walk, and she was one of the caretakers of the boy who was sick. She was the first of the puppies to initiate play.
She is VERY special and exceptionally sweet! There is just something about her face that is hard to explain and difficult to capture on a camera. She has a very feminine and beautiful face. The other red girls are beautiful as well, but they seem to have larger heads and thicker muzzles. She has a streamlined elegant head and face and is very emotionally mature. She just gives you these looks when you put her in your lap and then stretches out and hangs her head over your knees and dozes off. You can't really ask more of a dog- excellent conformation, attentive and loving, stunningly beautiful, and she just has that "it" factor. I can NEVER get good pictures of her! The one on the left was a nightmare to get because I would set her down and pick up my phone and by the time I clicked the button she had already run to the end of the couch to give me a kiss!

"Chanel"- Dark Red/Rust Female 1- Pink Collar (adopted by Tim and family)
Stats as of 8/18/11
Weight: 16 pounds 12 ounces
Chanel is going to be a Miami babe soon! She is one of our biggest pups and started to figure this out today. She is very active and personable. She has a dark red coat and sharp rust markings. Her head and feet are huge! She is so observant and always has been; she has tracked me since her eyes were opened. She is always watching me or Josh.
She is also our funniest puppy!!! Josh and I love to watch her and are always saying, "look at pinkie now!" She is very curious, adventurous, and happy. She loves to check in on her brothers and sisters, especially while they are sleeping to see if they want to wake up and play with her. She is going to be a great dog! She will probably be like Stella in that she will love the dog park, walks/runs, and exploring. She is so beautiful and going to be sooo big!

"Aggie"- Black/Rust Female- (adopted by Amanda and Steven)
Stats as of 8/2/11
Weight: 8 pounds 8 ounces
This beautiful girl has very feminine features and runs with the big boys. When she was born she was a little smaller than the others, however, she is growing quickly and surpassing some of the others. I think she will look like her beautiful mama Stella. She hangs out with the big boys and is very independent. After she nurses she goes to find a comfortable spot and goes to sleep, unlike many of the lazy pups who fall asleep while nursing. Then again, I'm not so sure I'd want one of those fat boys falling asleep on me either!
Although I cannot predict their adult height and weight, I believe she will probably be the smallest of our four girls at about 80 pounds (lean) and 28 inches tall at the withers like her mama Stella. A big girl, but still smaller than her three red sisters although she is catching up fast! Every time Josh or I pick her up, we just say "Gosh she's pretty!"

"Luka"- Black/Rust Male 2- Red Collar (adopted by Estelle)
Stats as of 8/5/11
Weight: 11 pounds 10.5 ounces
This big boy has the darkest face of the black/rust puppies; this is a characteristic of Rambo's dad. His funniest characteristic is that he likes to sleep on his back with his tongue often hanging out. Estelle has waited so patiently for a brother to her other Doberman Duby, and I know "Luka" will be well loved in his new home!
Luka cracks us up. He is rotten! When I bathe him he flips over instantly and wants to skip to the good part (the tummy rub, ear scratches, and kisses) and bypass the part where I am scrubbing the gruel off his body and feet.

Z in his new dad's truck!
Stats as of 8/2/11
Weight: 10 pounds 0.5 ounces
He is one of our biggest black males and has a dark face like Rambo's dad as well and big block wrinkled head right now. He is pretty laid back, but likes to play when others initiate. He is so handsome and has nice big knuckled up feet! He and Castiel always seem to pair up together and like to play with one another. He is going to be a stunning HUGE male!

"Castiel" Black/Rust Male 6- Dark Green Collar (adopted by Rick and Diann)
Stats as of 8/12/11
Weight: 13 pounds 5.5 ounces
This boy is a ladies' man! Every woman who comes to see the puppies picks him up right away! I love his gorgeous dark face and big feet. He is always watching what is going on. I'm looking forward to the next few weeks to see him fill into those feet. He and Z are best friends already. He has a masculine face and big head and paws. He will be very big as well. He is pretty laid back and let's the overly playful puppies come to him to play. He happily obliges when they do, but he is a little lazy right now. :)
Castiel is going to have a very important job to do- he is going to watch his dad and help him expel air when he has difficulty breathing. His training is going to be VERY expensive; if you are able to spread the word about helping Castiel go through service dog training donations are being accepted at Paws in Service.
